Job Requirements:

  • 3 years minimum experience as a leisure travel agent 

  • Extensive working knowledge of Apollo/Sabre/Worldspan GDS 

  • Applicants without travel agent experience and working knowledge of GDS systems WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • A demonstrated knowledge of the travel industry

Air Specialist

Job Overview

  • Support all corporate crossover air/hotel/car only bookings

  • Support IC’s and leisure team with domestic and international air bookings

  • Support for groups with air quotes, securing group air and ticketing of group bookings

  • Support all individual air/hotel only reservations for leisure and groups

Required Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Lead agent for all corporate crossover air/hotel/car only bookings.

  • Assist the corporate and leisure departments with domestic and international air, car and hotel bookings.

  • Assist leisure agents with GDS ticketing/airline rules/pricing/commission questions.

  • Assist with booking and managing both domestic and international air components for incentive, meetings and affinity group programs sold within Hurley Travel Experts through the GDS system and/or monitor flights built through Concur GDS integration.

  • Utilize Hurley Travel Experts preferred vendors to maximize contracts commission opportunities wherever possible.

  • Monitor all air schedules for price reductions, schedule changes and better schedules/pricing opportunities.

  • Secure best seat assignments for all individuals and groups; continuing to monitor if best seats are not available.

  • Utilization of air scripts and daily queue management.

  • Follow all procedures for VIP Concierge service.

  • Extension Planning: Research and create airline itinerary extension information as requested by participant. Customize individual extension/deviation requests with car rental and non-group hotel as requested.

  • Handle all deviations for group attendees.

  • Ensure all bookings are properly invoiced.

  • Communicate with the group lead and client to inform of any schedule changes, questions, updates, budget information or customer service issues that arise with the group.

  • Document all PNR’s with pertinent information and accurate billing comments.

  • Review meeting profiles to ensure booking to meeting specifics.

  • Maintain and promote professional and courteous client relations by managing a prompt and accurate response to telephone and email communications.

  • Achieve individual and contractual service level goals related to telephone, quality, and productivity.

  • Know and properly use: airline terminology, codes, fare basis, airline rules and tariffs, resource guides, books, and industry contacts.

  • Assume and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to the position and other needs of the company.

  • 2-4+ years group or corporate experience

  • 2-4+ years International travel planning experience

  • Graduate of an accredited travel school desired if no experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated internet research skills for customer information

  • CVENT experience preferred but not required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software

  • Demonstrated professional customer service skills

  • Ability to work nights and weekends when needed

  • Team player a must

Senior Corporate Travel Advisor

Apollo GDS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Job Overview
Fulfills Corporate Travel Customers’ travel related requests in airline ticketing arrangements, hotel accommodations and car rentals to result in maximized profitability for the client and Hurley/Direct Travel. Provides customer service through the communication of travel related information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Books reservations for air travel, hotel and car rentals, following up when necessary to complete the reservation. 

  • Responds to requests for price quotations utilizing automated system(s) for domestic and international itineraries. 

  • Conforms to client travel standards and policies. 

  • Promotes the acceptance of fares, rates, and suppliers that match the client’s travel program policies and negotiated contracts. Applies discount programs appropriately. 

  • Moves market share for BCD Travel preferred suppliers. 

  • Maintains and promotes professional and courteous client relations by managing a prompt and accurate response to telephone and email communications. 

  • Remains informed of all airline rules and regulations and current affairs. Communicates information to clients accurately and appropriately. 

  • Achieves individual and contractual service level goals related to telephone, quality, and productivity. 

  • Maintains client profiles, ensuring specials requests and reward program information such as frequent flyer / driver / hotel stay are included. 

  • Monitors, sorts and works global distribution systems (GDS) queues daily to maintain quality control. - Ensures optimum customer service through effective use of phone systems and positive telephone service techniques. 

  • Knows and properly uses: airline terminology/codes, fare basis, airline rules and tariffs, resource guides, and industry contacts. 

  • Assume Lead Consultant role when required. 

  • Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly.

  • Must be able to take direction and work well with others. 

  • Must be able to work under the stress of and meet deadlines. 

  • Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately while meeting applicable productivity measures. 

  • Work independently in the absence of supervision.
